Terms & Conditions

Here at RubyGranite Ltd, we want you to be completely happy with your new worktops and we pride ourselves on our accurate and seamless installations. In order for us to provide you with the highest quality workmanship, please observe the following guidelines to ensure a hassle-free process from order to completion.

ORDERING PROCESS Together we complete this order confirmation sheet with all the relevant information that we need from you. We then discuss template and fit dates and collect the 40% deposit (this is non-refundable) as stated on your quote. The order confirmation sheet is then signed by you to confirm that you are happy with everything agreed and a copy is kept by both parties. Please note that by signing this document (or confirming in writing via email) and paying your deposit you are commited to RubyGranite Ltd carrying out the work. We require a minimum of 2 WEEKS NOTICE for all appointments. We recommend if you know your dates then book them in as soon as you can because we can always rearrange if necessary.

TEMPLATE STAGE

To ensure that your kitchen is fully ready to template the following must be adhered to;

  • All units should be in place, secured and levelled. The final level of your worktops can only be as good as the level of the units supporting them.

  • Your units need to be able to support the weight of the granite - most new carcasses will be fine but if you are unsure please do not hesitate to ask if extra support is required when the templater visits your property.

  • All building works inc plastering, tiling, flooring and boxing in of pipes, should be done PRIOR to the template or AFTER WORKTOPS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. It is important that no work is done in between the tempting and fitting stage as this could affect your final product and invalidate your templates.

  • Any items that need to be fitted in or around the granite need to be on site and if necessary fitted at this time - this includes sinks, taps, hobs, cooker hoods and pop-up sockets.

  • A 60% deposit MUST be paid at template stage - failure to pay will result in fabrication not proceeding and could cause delays in the fitting process. Please note RubyGranite DOES NOT accept liability for any delays caused by waiting for payments. This deposit is non-refundable. Please note that by paying your 60% deposit, you are agreeing to us manufacturing what we have templated.

  • Template sheets provided by the templater on site MUST also be signed off by the customer to state you are happy with what you have discussed, what has been templated and in turn will be manufactured and fitted. If you are not on site to sign, a copy will be sent via email for you to return to us stating you are happy for us to manufacture. Please note that even if this isn’t done, by paying your 60% deposit you are agreeing for us to fabricate what we have templated.

  • We reserve the right to alter any templates during production, without prior notice should we deem it necessary.

  • Once the template file has been returned to the office, it will be checked and if there are any major discrepancies between what has been quoted and what has been templated then you will be informed immediately by email of any additional charges that may occur. We will need written confirmation that you agree to the extra charges before fabrication will commence and the payment made at this stage. Please note RubyGranite DOES NOT accept liability for any delays caused by waiting for confirmation back.

  • The signing of template sheets, supercedes anything that has been agreed and signed for on this order confirmation.

  • If you are choosing glass splashbacks then in most case this will be a separate order to that of the worktops. These could possibly be templated on a different day to the worktops (in most cases, the template for glass will happen after installation of worktops to ensure an accurate fit) and will be fitted approx. 2-3 weeks after they have been templated. Payment is required in full once template has been done for glass.

  • If we turn up to site to template on the agreed date and it is not ready, there are items missing or we simply cannot complete the template in full then you will incur a charge of £180 incVAT and the appointment will be rescheduled for our next available time. Please note this WILL effect your installation date as we stick to a strict 5 working day turn around.

Additional information for Worktop Changes only If you are just changing your existing worktops to stone, then as well as the above, the following must be adhered to…

  • • All worktop areas that are to be removed MUST be clear and free from clutter. We also recommend that you remove any top drawers and clear out any carosel cupboards. It is not necessary to empty any other cupboards.

Fitting Stage The fitting of your worktops should be relatively easy as long as the above has been adhered to.

  • • You will contacted the day prior to fitting to provide you with an indication of time. Please note that these are only approximate and cannot guarantee that the time given will be exact. We do ask our fitters to keep in touch with their daily customers should they be running late.

  • • You will also be asked to check the job over and sign a customer satisfaction form - please note, once the area has been checked and the form signed, RubyGranite Ltd accept no further liability and we are assuming that you are happy with the job in its entirety. If there are any issues of any kind then the office must be informed prior to the fitters leaving and the issues documented on their work sheets.

  • If we turn up to site on the agreed date and the installation cannot go ahead or any additional work is required after the fit that is not down to RubyGranite Ltd then you will incur additional minimum charge of £180 incVAT and £60 incVAT per hour therafter (including travel) and the work will be carried out on our next available appointment.

Additional Information

  • • We recommend decorating work is carried out AFTER the installation of the granite. If this is done prior and gets damaged or marked then RubyGranite Ltd do not accept liability for this.

  • • We expect you to inform us of any special requirements prior to template e.g. If there is restricted access to your property or if the kitchen is not situated at ground level. Also whether scaffolding or cranes may be required to assist with getting the worktops into place.

  • • We aim to install your standard worktops within 5-7 working days from templating provided we have at least 2 weeks’ notice prior to the template date and that there are no delays on the signing off of paper work and payment of deposit.

  • • The 5-7 working day turnaround does NOT apply to specialised work such as edge forming (e.g. waterfall edge, ½ bullnose etc), bonding, gluing, drop drainer or thermo-forming due to specialised and longer labour times – fit dates will be estimated at the time of order depending on specific requirements.

  • • If for any reason we cannot meet the agreed fit date then you will be notified as soon as we know.

  • • Please note that any breakages or damages of any kind in the factory can affect the production of you worktops.
